“How does it know your name?!” Chad shouted.

“Long story,” TJ shouted back.

They tried the door to Miss Grumpaton’s class. It was unlocked, so they dashed inside. For a moment they were safe from the crab. Unfortunately, they were not safe from Miss Grumpaton . . . or her after-school Shakespeare Club.

With great effort the old woman (rumor is they found her fossilized footprints next to some dinosaur bones) rose from her desk and spoke:

“Behold, who hath entered my humble abode?

I knew if I wait-eth, someday one would show.”

“Oh, uh, hi, Miss Grumpaton,” TJ said.

“Ye must speak old-world English, when joining this club,

Those are the rules, so follow them, bub.”

“Actually, we’re not here for the Shakespeare Club,” Chad said.

“Apparently no one else is either,” Doug added as he glanced around the empty room.

Miss Grumpaton sadly sank back into her chair. For as long as she’d been teaching (the last dozen centuries or so), the club had only one member . . . her. Except for that time, long ago, when a weird writer wearing tights by the name of Billy Shakespeare showed up . . . but even he got bored and quit.
